KPDO Radio 89.3 FM

We are pleased to announce that Pescadero Opera has been invited to present a monthly radio program on opera on KPDO Radio 89.3 FM. Once a month I will present a topic on opera that will include audio clips from famous operas. I will either take a topic and use the audio clips to illustrate my talk or I will take an opera, discuss the story, the background and the singers, insert several audio clips from that opera. You can access KPDO Radio 89.3 FM in the MAIN MENU of this website. You can read or download the synopsis as well as the English libretto for any of the operas that we have listed. These can be found in the sections labeled SYNOPSIS and ENGLISH LIBRETTOS in the main menu. WATCH THE ENTIRE OPERA. If you are interested in watching the entire opera, often with English subtitles, you can find many of them on youtube.com. Also, the Half Moon Bay Library offers hundreds of operas on DVD. If they don’t have them onsite they can order them from other libraries in San Mateo County, which you can then pick up in Half Moon Bay. All of these DVDs include English subtitles and are rented through the San Mateo Library System at no charge. Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.   Part I: An Introduction to Opera – 27 minutes 1.
